15th Sunday in Ordinary Time A - July 13, 2008
For the Church: that we may spread hope, joy, understanding, and Good News with great generosity so that all may experience the compassionate mercy of God, let us pray to the Lord.
For a greater love for the Word of God: that we may find quiet in our lives to allow the Word of God to challenge us and help us to bear abundant fruit, let us pray to the Lord.
For all who spread the Word of God, for preachers, teachers, parents, and writers: that they may announce God’s Reign faithfully and convincingly so that others may encounter the living God, let us pray to the Lord.
For the grace to share our faith through stories: that we may offer others the joy of coming to know God’s love through sharing the story of our journey with God, let us pray to the Lord.
For freedom from all that enslaves our hearts, especially financial cares and anxieties: that we may allow God’s word to touch and empower us to live in the freedom of God’s children, let us pray to the Lord.
For strength and patience: that God will sustain us and guide us through the sufferings and yearnings that we face each day, let us pray to the Lord.
For greater respect for the earth: that all may strive to clean up the air, water, and land so that others may be able to live and grow, let us pray to the Lord.
For all who have turned from God’s Word: that we may continue to share the truth by our lives, our relationships, and our love, let us pray to the Lord.
For all who are suffering from floods and wildfires: that God will preserve them from further harm, give them strength, and guide all who are seeking to assist them, let us pray to the Lord.
For leaders of government and business: that the seeds of justice will bear fruit in their hearts and ours so that all people can find ways to meet their basic needs, let us pray to the Lord.
For all who hunger for life, especially those who are ill, depressed, or who live in fear of abuse: that God’s gracious love will sustain and protect them, let us pray to the Lord.
For Peace: that God’s word of peace may bear fruit in the hearts and lives of all women and men, and bring us to a new day of healing and reconciliation, let us pray to the Lord.
